We have purchased and used other shredders, and they all had a problem with jamming. After looking at extensive reviews, we decided to try an Aurora shredder, and chose this particular model because of the value. It does a super job and handles our needs with ease and no jamming. My husband's comment was "I wouldn't want to get my fingers caught in this one!!!" Great product and value.

Use a paring knife to open the paper drawer July 20, 2008

To open the paper drawer, insert a paring knife in the upper right hand corner and pry it open.
It has big wheels that make it easy to move around, even on carpeting.
No Hassle No Breakdown Shredder December 1, 2008
I read lots of reviews of various shredders, including the hint for this one that a knife point in the upper rt or lf corner of the basket will loosen it enough to withdraw the basket from the shredder, and am very satisfied that this shredder will not breakdown or wear out any time soon. Very good price, doubles as a lamp stand in a pinch! Husband says we have the Cadillac of shredders. And we do.

Used this to destroy years of built up docs. Had to let it cool down a couple of times, but it came right back and keeps going.
